The Outpatient service aims to provide financially disadvantaged patients the opportunity to avail medical care at a minimum cost. Established on July 1977, it has expanded to include the Department of Medicine (consultation), Department of Surgery (consultation and minor surgical procedures), Department of Ophthalmology (consultation), Department of Obstetric & Gynecology (pre-natal check-up/PMS, consultation, biopsies/Paps' smear), and Department of Pediatrics (well-baby, immunization, consultation, subspecialty). Medical Social Work Service is also available to assist clients to avail medical care and participate in the hospital's community outreach program. The section also provides training opportunities for house staff, medical interns, and nursing students and assists in arranging for medicine and alternative treatment for patients under their care. The outpatient unit is open from Monday to Saturday and manned by compassionate, dedicated, and competent staff.
