Inspired by the spirit and ideals of Cebu Doctors' Hospital and cognizant of the need for a holistic quality nursing care and training in a dynamic society, the Nursing Service Department shares in the responsibility of actively involving in Christ healing ministry. The department is the largest, the busiest, and the major service resource in the hospital since it is responsible for the greatest amount of activity directly related to patient care. The department is headed by the Director of Nursing Service who is responsible for the management and integration of nursing services. Nurse supervisors ably assist the Director in the supervision and direction of the different nursing units and special areas. They work closely with the headnurses for the efficient and effective management of one or two units. The charge nurses in turn are directly responsible for the management of the different units/wards. They directly supervise the staff nurses and auxiliaries who provide direct nursing care to the patient in the unit. The professional growth of the Nursing Service personnel is a vital concern of the department. The In-Service Coordinator handles the orientation and staff development program for all levels of professional and non-professional staff of the department to ensure effective and efficient patient care.
