The Emergency Room (ER) is an autonomous unit of the hospital whose primary task is to see to it that patients presenting themselves will be seen and attended to courteously and treated competently. The ER is opened twenty-four (24) hours a day for clients who seek consultation, admission, treatment, ambulance services, and referrals. It is especially equipped with life-saving devices to handle emergency situations and manned with competent staff which include the ER consultant (Family Medicine), Residents and PGI's (all departments) who render the initial assessment and treatment, and nurses and auxiliaries who provide physical assistance and facilitates the admission. The staff always see to it that the unit is made available to patients seeking urgent medical and nursing attention and that patient's stay in the unit should be as short and as pleasant as possible.
