The Department of Surgery ispresently staffed by seventy-one(71) welltrained surgical practitionersof different specialties accreditedby the Philippine College of Surgeons.Among these specialties are General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery,Neurosurgery, Plastic Reconstructive and Maxillo-Facial Surgery,Pediatric Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, and Urology. Currently, the department prides in being able to perform Laparoscopic surgeries speciallycholecystectomies.A recent addition to the varioussubspecialties is the establishmentof the section of Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery(TCVS). The section on TCVSprides itself on sharing good outcome of coronary artery bypassgraft (CABAG) surgery patients.The department has an accreditedtraining program in General Surgeryby the Philippine Board ofSurgery (PBS) and has producedgraduates highly trained in the art and practice of general surgery.
