The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is committed to the improvement of medical care for women, and the training of future obstetricians and gynecologists of the region. It is one of the first approved residency training programs in the country, and its graduates include some of the department chairmen and professors in many areas of the Visayas and Mindanao. The outpatient section has a large charity service and has a volume of over 2000 deliveries a year. The active and faculty staff are board certified. There are certified subspecialists in gynecologic laparoscopy, ultrasonography, infertility, perinatology, and gynecological cancer. Facilities include electronic fetal monitoring, videolaparoscopy, and ultrasound.
