The Department of Anesthesiology is composed of Board-certified consultants. More than 3,000 major operations are performed every year in eight operating theaters and two delivery room suites with state-of-the-art equipment for anesthesia care and monitoring. Operating rooms are all equipped with ECG monitors, pulse oximeters, and piped-in gas delivery system. Post operative pain relief is also provided, and many patients receiving epidural anesthesia are remarkably pain-free during the first 24-hours after surgery. Patients in labor and delivery may also request epidural anesthesia coverage for "painless" childbirth.
